Stenting accross: POT or not?
Author: Bon-Kwon Koo, MD, PhD, Seoul National University Hospital, Seoul, Korea
SUMMARY
- MB stenting and SB angioplasty altered the local hemodynamic conditions.
- Once over-expanded, additional stenting or aggressive kissing balloon inflation does not improve local hemodynamic conditions.
- Over dilatation of proximal and distal MB is the main cause of flow disturbance and requires optimization.
- Keeping the “natural law of bifurcation (or fractal ratio)” can reduce the amount of flow disturbance.
