Two-stent Techniques Pooled Analysis of The BBC ONE Study and The Nordic Bifurcation Studies

Author: Niels R. Holm, Aarhus Univ. Hospital, Skejby, Denmark

OBJECTIVE

To compare mid-term clinical outcome after treatment of coronary bifurcation lesions by

  • Crush and
  • Culotte

CONCLUSION

  • The crush and culotte two-stent techniques were associated with similar 9-month clinical outcome
  • Two-stent techniques were associated with a trend for increased MACE rates in shallow angle bifurcations and true bifurcation lesions
  • Similar MACE rates for crush and culotte in the subsets of true, non-true bifurcations, wide, and shallow angle lesions
  • The crush technique was associated with a trend towards more procedural MIs in angulated lesions
  • Always kiss after crush and culotte
