TAKE HOME MESSAGES
- Trying to break a knotted wire on a stent is probably safer when a balloon is advanced close to the stent
- Especially when we have to deal with a Promus stent which has a weak longitudinal resistance
- Magnum olive-shaped wire is a useful tool to advance through a distorted stent.
- Stent design is a tradeoff:
- Stent flexibility, crossing profile (decrease strut thickness)
- Longitudinal integrity
