CASES: TIPS & TRICKS AND COMPLICATIONS
BVS in Bifurcation
Author: Sai Satish, MD, DM, Apollo Hospitals, Chennai, India
PATIENT
- 44 year old male
- Recent Onset Angina
- Negative Troponins
- Normal LV
ISSUES
- How easy is it to open the struts of the first BVS??
- Will I be able to deliver a second bulky Absorb through the struts of the first Absorb??
- Especially in an active young man with a normal LV, I don’t want to loose the side branch
- Nor do I want to end up compromising and using a metal DES for the diagonal (loosing the benefit of putting absorbs in the first place……)
FOOD FOR THOUGHT
- Is side branch access through BVS safe?
- Max balloon size for SB access through BVS??
- Ideal positioning of the balloons during the Kiss??
- Max balloon pressures during the kiss??
