CONCLUSION

  • Development of a parametric coronary bifurcation model for numerical analysis (e.g. for pressure ratio evaluation, for the assessment of stenting techniques, …)
  • DISTAL MAIN BRANCH: FFR is combined result of distal stenosis and proximal stenosis
    • Distal stenosis minimal effect on FFR
    • Large influence of bifurcation angle!this is probably because of shape of the bifurcation region
  • SIDE BRANCH : FFR is combined result of side branch and proximal stenosis
    • small SB stenosis
    • flow through side branch minimal effect on FFR
    • large SB stenosis results in change in FFR and thus flow through side branch is important
