Life bifurcation stenting guidance: OCT, IVUS, FFR & ANGIO
Side Branch Compromise Predicted by FD-OCT
Author: Shiro Uemura, MD, PhD, Cardiovascular Medicine, Nara Medical University, Japan
LIMITATIONS
- Bifurcation lesions with SB stenosis at baseline were not included.
- The number of LMT bifurcation lesions was very small.
- Physiological significance of angiographic worsening of SB stenosis was not evaluated.
CONCLUSION
- FD-OCT guidance should be considered in the assessment of paDents with bifurcation lesions, especially in those with angiographically ambiguous anatomy.
- The evaluation of the bifurcation lesions with longitudinal reconstruction FD-OCT image may allow us to predict the occurrence of SB compromise during procedure.
- Narrower CT angle and shorter BP-CT length were the independent predictors for the acute SB ostial compromise after cross-over single stenting.
- The role of OCT guided bifurcation stenting should be prospectively evaluated in terms of the long-term outcome.
