Stentys in bifurcation lesions: 12 months Follow-up of a prospec/ve study

Author: Stylianos A. Pyxaras, MD, Contilia Heart and Vascular Centre Elisabeth-Krankenhaus Essen, Germany

AIM

To evaluate the long-term safety and efficacy of the STENTYS self-apposing paclitaxel-eluting stent (STENTYS-PES) in bifurcation lesions in routine clinical practice

CONCLUSION

  • In a prospective, multicentric experience, STENTYS-PES has satisfactory long-term outcome
  • Stentys-PES has successfully been used as an alternative to provisional strategy with balloon expandable stents, allowing additional SB access whenever required
  • Device and procedural success achieved high rates in an all- comer, prospectively enrolled population
  • No significant differences regarding MACE at 6- and 12- months were observed in patients treated with or without FKB
