5-year serial evaluation of jailed side branches by BRS: 3-dimensional OCT analysis

SUMMARY
- In the ABSORB B trial, OCT 3-D analysis showed that the ostial area free of struts tends to decrease from baseline to 1 year due to growing tissue covering over and between the struts. The number of compartment divided by struts/neointima also decreased since small compartments are covered by neointimal tissue. From 1 to 3 years, there was no significant change in ostial area.
- The ostium area increased from 3 years to 5 years due to the reduction of neointima and recreation of bifurcation carina.
