Negative remodeling at SB ostium location
Author: Ricardo A. Costa, Instituto Dante Pazzanese de Cardiologia, São Paulo, Brazil
CONCLUSION
- Significant negative remodeling is a frequent encounter in complex coronary bifurcation lesions presenting with extensive and severe disease
- Negative remodeling plays a substantial role on lumen reduction in SB with complex morphology
- Importantly, the degree of SB compromise based on the angiographic ‘‘luminogram’’ is still a key determinant factor for bifurcation PCI decision-making; thus, our observations call the attention for further investigation with imaging and/ or physiological methods to better assess the real amount of plaque and the physiological impact of SB stenosis before approaching bifurcation PCI with more complex techniques
