Maximum Capacity of current DES- Large enough for LM ?

  1. Expansion capacity for each stent depends on model designs > risk of overstreching/ malapposition for large diameter mismatch
  2. Newer DES stent designs cut-off diameter between small and large vessel size generally follow previous platforms, and are able to expand largely beyond their nominal diameter.
  3. Overexpansion not only increases the MLD and MSA, but also increases the cell size and also the straightening of the struts.
  4. The morphological change in stent varies between stent platforms as well as stent size (model design) for a given Overexpansion.
  5. SB Access: most DES have large cell opening > recrossing location more important

Always Consider Model Design in LM!!
