Maximum Capacity of current DES- Large enough for LM ?
- Expansion capacity for each stent depends on model designs > risk of overstreching/ malapposition for large diameter mismatch
- Newer DES stent designs cut-off diameter between small and large vessel size generally follow previous platforms, and are able to expand largely beyond their nominal diameter.
- Overexpansion not only increases the MLD and MSA, but also increases the cell size and also the straightening of the struts.
- The morphological change in stent varies between stent platforms as well as stent size (model design) for a given Overexpansion.
- SB Access: most DES have large cell opening > recrossing location more important
Always Consider Model Design in LM!!
