SESSION 3: A Physiologic Evaluation Session: Bifurcation Stenting FFR Guidance
Technical challenges with the Pressure wires
Author: Massoud Leesar, MD, Professor of Medicine, Section Chief, Interventional Cardiology, Baker Dean Endowed professor, University of Alabama, Birmingham
CONCLUSION
- The majority of the SB lesions can be re-crossed after MV stenting with the pressure wires
- If the pressure wire does not re-cross the SB ostium, SB dilation with a small, short-balloon would facilitate the pressure wire crossing
- If the SB ostium is felt to be unfavorable for re-crossing, the jailed pressure wire technique may be used, but a short segment of the stent should cover the wire and POT will facilitate the removal of the wire
- Operators should be aware of the pitfalls of FFR measurements and correct them for accurate FFR measurements
