3 y outcomes after SES implantation for ULM coronary artery disease impact of technique

Author: Mamoru Toyofuku, MD,

SUMMARY

The efficacy of the bifurcation two-stent approach was limited as compared with the one-stent approach in the LMCA bifurcations. Moreover, there may be a safety concern about bifurcation two stenting for ULM lesions.
LIMITATIONS
  • Comparison between two-techniques of bifurcation one-stent and two-stent in an observational study is not precise. Two groups showed obviously different properties, such as more  true bifurcation, more in-stent restenosis, and more severe calcification in the two-stent group.
  • Our result may reveal poor outcomes after PCI in the patients who requires both branch stenting in LMCA as compared with those who requires main branch stenting alone.
