Summary: Trade-off with Biodegradable Strut Thickness

  • Mechanical properties of polymeric scaffolds are controlled by various parameters (polymer blend, crystallinity, post-processing, designs , etc..)
  • Currently Strut width /thickness larger > 120 um are still required to achieve comparable mechanical properties as metallic platforms. Material processing can improve polymer mechanical properties. Next Gen with 100 um strut are emerging.
